The Amateur: Barack Obama in the White House, by Edward Klein

It's amateur hour at the White House. So says New York Times bestselling author Edward Klein in his political expose' The Amateur. Tapping into the public's growing sentiment that President Obama is in over his head, The Amateur argues that Obama's toxic combination of incompetence and arrogance has run our nation and his presidency off the rails.

''Obama was both completely inexperienced and ideologically far to the left of most Americans when he entered the White House,'' says Klein. ''And he was so arrogant that he didn't even know what he didn't know.''

Klein, who is known for getting the inside scoop on everyone from the Kennedys to the Clintons, reveals never-before-published details about the Obama administration's political inner workings, as well as Barack and Michelle's personal lives, including:

--The inordinate influence Michelle wields over Barack and her feud with a high-profile celebrity

--The real reason Rahm Emmanuel left the White House (it wasn't for family reasons)

--Why Valerie Jarrett's role is closer to that of Rasputin than impartial senior advisor

--How Obama has purposefully forgotten and ignored those who put him in power, including the Kennedys and the Jewish and African American communities in Chicago

From Obama's conceited and detached demeanor, to his detrimental reliance on Michelle Obama and Valerie Jarrett's advice, to the Obamas' extravagant and out-of-touch lifestyle, The Amateur reveals a president whose ignorance and incompetence are sabotaging himself, his presidency, and America.

“All the horrors I predicted in Welcome to Obamaland have now been definitively proven true by Edward Klein’s rip-roaringly readable new book The Amateur, which uses great stories and great reporting to illustrate just how ideological, arrogant, and hapless Obama and his administration really are. From the Inside Flap
Think you know the real Barack Obama? You don't--not until you've read "The Amateur"
In this stunning expose, bestselling author Edward Klein--a contributing editor to "Vanity Fair," former foreign editor of "Newsweek," and former editor-in-chief of the "New York Times Magazine"--pulls back the curtain on one of the most secretive White Houses in history. He reveals a callow, thin-skinned, arrogant president with messianic dreams of grandeur supported by a cast of true-believers, all of them united by leftist politics and an amateurish understanding of executive leadership.
In "The Amateur" you'll discover:
Why the so-called "centrist" Obama is actually "in revolt" against the values of the society he was elected to lead
Why Bill Clinton loathes Barack Obama and tried to get Hillary to run against him in 2012
The spiteful rivalry between Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey
How Obama split the Kennedy family
How Obama has taken more of a personal role in making foreign policy than any president since Richard Nixon--with disastrous results
How Michelle Obama and Valerie Jarrett are the real powers behind the White House throne
"The Amateur" is a reporter's book, buttressed by nearly 200 interviews, many of them with the insiders who know Obama best. The result is the most important political book of the year. You will never look at Barack Obama the same way again.

The Great Obama-Oprah Feud
By James R. Holland
In the eastern-most part of the Midwest (Kentucky) of the USA there was once a famous feud between two clans of mountain folks called the Hatfield's and McCoys. The leader of the Hatfield's was named "Devil Anse Hatfield." The feud described in this book was between fellow Chicagoans Oprah Winfrey and the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, although Oprah was probably unexpectedly blindsided by the behind-the-scenes attacks by the very women she helped get into the White House. Rather than a war between two midwestern families this particular battle might be better described as a catfight since it only involved the women folks but it did remind the reader of that other famous Midwestern feud.
After one of the world's richest and most popular women, Oprah Winfrey decided to help out a relatively unknown candidate for President named Barack Obama, she was credited with providing him with more than a million votes. The popularity of her own national television program suffered greatly from this political position, but her candidate and friend Barack won.
But once the Obama's were in the White House several jealous staff members of Michelle Obama quickly grew to detest the influence they felt Oprah was exercising on the President. Soon, Oprah was frozen out of the White House by a jealous wife.
This tale of political intrigue and fighting within the Obama White House is only one of the fascinating stories reported in this excellent peek into the Obama administration provided by author Edward Klein.
In five major sections containing a total of 22 chapters with titles such as "The Dark Side of Obama"(Introduction), "As Bill Sees It"(Prologue), "Hollow at the Core, You Keep Out of This, Drinking the Obama Kool-Aid, Bungler-in-chief, Clark Kent, Valerie v Rahm, The Wrath of Michelle, Oprah's Sacrifice, Snubbing Caroline, The Jewish Problem with Obama, Mind-Meld, The Rise of the Humanitarian Vulcans, The Search for the Real Obama" and "The Low Road" the author shines a spot light on the most mysterious and little known or understood President of the USA.
Chapter 5 is entitled "The Man Who Prepared Obama For The Presidency." It's about Reverend Jeremiah Wright. Like much of the material in the book it has been labeled lies and fiction by many of the Obama spin-doctors in the media. However, the author recorded his three and a half hour interview with Reverend Wright. The controversial parts of the interview have been running on the Fox News Channel this week. Wright really does say the things reported in Klein's book. Since Klein recorded most of these 200 interviews for the book, it's a good bet he can back up the information he has written in this expose.
In addition to actual quotes galore, the tales described in this book make perfect sense. They back up what the general public has witnessed on the nightly news, but not been able to explain such as the obvious brush off of Oprah. "According to sources for this book, Oprah told Gayle King that she felt like getting Michelle on the phone and really letting her have it. Oprah raged: `Michelle hates fat people and doesn't want me waddling around the White House.'"
Michelle "still believes Oprah has been getting too close to Hillary, whom Michelle calls a snake."
While much of this review has focused on the Obama-Oprah Feud, that's not the most important part of this book. Its just good gossip. Although it does point out how much influence Michelle exercises over her husband, public policy and she shares his redistribution of wealth and power theories. The other sections of the volume are much more enlightening and scary. The title of the book, by the way, comes from Bill Clinton. "Barack Obama," said Bill Clinton, "is an amateur!"
That's one of the nicer nicknames for Obama. The author has collected many that are much worse. As he writes, "I chose to launch my investigation in Chicago, where Obama first donned his disguise as an ideological wolf in sheep's clothing." In another reported outburst by Clinton regarding Obama, "Obama doesn't know how to be president. He doesn't know how the world works. He's incompetent. He's...he's..."
This is an unexpected page-turner.

The Title fits!
By Philip H. Ness
I have not read an assessment of an American President since Lyndon Johnson. Klein's interview with Jeremiah Wright convinced me to read The Amateur. It was an easy read. I was a bit surprised that it was not a hatchet job on the President with a lot of unfounded accusations, but a reasonably presented collection of statements and beliefs of many people, both friends and foes. The book filled in details of many things I was aware of or suspected, but didn't expose anything I did not already believe about our President.

Those who love the President will trash the book and the author. Those who love the Constitution and limited government will appreciate confirmation of their views about the President and concern about the future of America.

Read this book before you vote in Nov

A few observations:
1) Bill Clinton was right. Hillary should have run in the primary against Obama. Klein's work reveals the broad support she would have had amongst Obama's 2008 supporters.
2) For the mainstream media, and their unquestioning adherents, The Amateur reveals you're missing a great political game.
3) Ed Klein's research is frightening in revealing Obama's lack of character. Out of decency, how does he not offer gratitude regularly to the Kennedys, Oprah, the Chicago and other early African-Americans supporters who launched him , and finally to his Jewish supporters who "earned like Episcopalians and voted like Puerto Ricans"? Politically, forget about morality now, by not having done so, he may be forced to exit the White House.
4) Finally, Klein's detractors seek to impeach Klein's integrity based on conclusions in the author's prior works. No one has disproved that the many interviews in The Amateur with Obama's 2008 supporters did not happen or contain misquotes.
The Amateur, easily readable and yet broad in scope, should be read by many an American voter. If only the mainstream press would read the book, too . .
