Digital Image Processing has been the leading textbook in its field for more than 20 years. As was the case with the 1977 and 1987 editions by Gonzalez and Wintz, and the 1992 edition by Gonzalez and Woods, the present edition was prepared with students and instructors in mind. 771e material is timely, highly readable, and illustrated with numerous examples of practical significance. All mainstream areas of image processing are covered, including a totally revised introduction and discussion of image fundamentals, image enhancement in the spatial and frequency domains, restoration, color image processing, wavelets, image compression, morphology, segmentation, and image description. About the Author

Rafael C. Gonzalez received the B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Miami in 1965 and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 1967 and 1970, respectively. He joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) in 1970, where he became Associate Professor in 1973, Professor in 1978, and Distinguished Service Professor in 1984. He served as Chairman of the department from 1994 through 1997. He is currently a Professor Emeritus at UTK.

Gonzalez is the founder of the Image & Pattern Analysis Laboratory and the Robotics & Computer Vision Laboratory at the University of Tennessee. He also founded Perceptics Corporation in 1982 and was its president until 1992. The last three years of this period were spent under a full-time employment contract with Westinghouse Corporation, who acquired the company in 1989.

Under his direction, Perceptics became highly successful in image processing, computer vision, and laser disk storage technology. In its initial ten years, Perceptics introduced a series of innovative products, including: The world's first commercially-available computer vision system for automatically reading the license plate on moving vehicles; a series of large-scale image processing and archiving systems used by the U.S. Navy at six different manufacturing sites throughout the country to inspect the rocket motors of missiles in the Trident II Submarine Program; the market leading family of imaging boards for advanced Macintosh computers; and a line of trillion-byte laser disk products.

He is a frequent consultant to industry and government in the areas of pattern recognition, image processing, and machine learning. His academic honors for work in these fields include the 1977 UTK College of Engineering Faculty Achievement Award; the 1978 UTK Chancellor's Research Scholar Award; the 1980 Magnavox Engineering Professor Award; and the 1980 M.E. Brooks Distinguished Professor Award. In 1981 he became an IBM Professor at the University of Tennessee and in 1984 he was named a Distinguished Service Professor there. He was awarded a Distinguished Alumnus Award by the University of Miami in 1985, the Phi Kappa Phi Scholar Award in 1986, and the University of Tennessee's Nathan W. Dougherty Award for Excellence in Engineering in 1992.

Honors for industrial accomplishment include the 1987 IEEE Outstanding Engineer Award for Commercial Development in Tennessee; the 1988 Albert Rose Nat'l Award for Excellence in Commercial Image Processing; the 1989 B. Otto Wheeley Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer; the 1989 Coopers and Lybrand Entrepreneur of the Year Award; the 1992 IEEE Region 3 Outstanding Engineer Award; and the 1993 Automated Imaging Association National Award for Technology Development.

Gonzalez is author or co-author of over 100 technical articles, two edited books, and four textbooks in the fields of pattern recognition, image processing and robotics. His books are used in over 500 universities and research institutions throughout the world. He is listed in the prestigious Marquis Who's Who in America, Marquis Who's Who in Engineering, Marquis Who's Who in the World, and in 10 other national and international biographical citations. He ii the co-holder of two U.S. Patents, and has been an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, and the International Journal of Computer and Information Sciences. He is a member of numerous professional and honorary societies, including Tau Beta Pi, Phi Kappa Phi, Eta Kapp Nu, and Sigma Xi. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.

Richard E. Woods earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His professional experiences range from entrepreneurial to the

This edition is the most comprehensive revision of Digital Image Processing since the book first appeared in 1977. As the 1977 and 1987 editions by Gonzalez and Wintz, and the 1992 edition by Gonzalez and Woods, the present edition was prepared with students and instructors in mind. Thus, the principal objectives of the book continue to be to provide an introduction to basic concepts and methodologies for digital image processing, and to develop a foundation that can be used as the basis for further study and research in this field. To achieve these objectives, we again focused on material that we believe is fundamental and has a scope of application that is not limited to the solution of specialized problems. The mathematical complexity of the book remains at a level well within the grasp of college seniors and first-year graduate students who have introductory preparation in mathematical analysis, vectors, matrices, probability, statistics, and rudimentary computer programming.

The present edition was influenced significantly by a recent market survey conducted by Prentice Hall. The major findings of this survey were:

A need for more motivation in the introductory chapter regarding the spectrum of applications of digital image processing.

A simplification and shortening of material in the early chapters in order to "get to the subject matter" as quickly as possible.

A more intuitive presentation in some areas, such as image transforms and image restoration.

Individual chapter coverage of color image processing, wavelets, and image morphology.

An increase in the breadth of problems at the end of each chapter.

The reorganization that resulted in this edition is our attempt at providing a reasonable degree of balance between rigor in the presentation, the findings of the market survey, and suggestions made by students, readers, and colleagues since the last edition of the book. The major changes made in the book are as follows.

Chapter 1 was rewritten completely. The main focus of the current treatment is on examples of areas that use digital image processing. While far from exhaustive, the examples shown will leave little doubt in the reader's mind regarding the breadth of application of digital image processing methodologies. Chapter 2 is totally new also. The focus of the presentation in this chapter is on how digital images are generated, and on the closely related concepts of sampling, abasing, Moire patterns, and image zooming and shrinking. The new material and the manner in which these two chapters were reorganized address, directly the first two findings in the market survey mentioned above.

Chapters 3 though 6 in the current edition cover the same concepts as Chapters 3 through 5 in the previous edition, but the scope is expanded and the presentation is totally different. In the previous edition, Chapter 3 was devote(( exclusively to image transforms. One of the major changes in the book is that image transforms are now introduced when they are needed. This allowed us to begin discussion of image processing techniques much earlier than before, further addressing the second finding of the market survey. Chapters 3 and 4 in the current edition deal with image enhancement, as opposed to a single chapter (Chapter 4) in the previous edition. The new organization of this material doe; not imply that image enhancement is more important than other areas. Rather we used it as an avenue to introduce spatial methods for image processing; (Chapter 3), as well as the Fourier transform, the frequency domain, and image filtering (Chapter 4). Our purpose for introducing these concepts in the context of image enhancement (a subject particularly appealing to beginners) was to increase the level of intuitiveness in the presentation, thus addressing partially, the third major finding in the marketing survey. This organization also gives instructors flexibility in the amount of frequency-domain material they wish to ever.

Chapter 5 also was rewritten completely in a more intuitive manner. The coverage of this topic in earlier editions of the book was based on matrix theory. Although unified and elegant, this type of presentation is difficult to follow particularly by undergraduates. The new presentation covers essentially the same ground, but the discussion does not rely on matrix theory and is much easier to understand, due in part to numerous new examples. The price paid fog this newly gained simplicity is the loss of a unified approach, in the sense the in the earlier treatment a number of restoration results could be derived from one basic formulation. On balance, however, we believe that readers (especially beginners) will find the new treatment much more appealing and easier to follow. Also, as indicated below, the old material is stored in the book Web site for easy access by individuals preferring to follow a matrix-theory formulation.

Chapter 6 dealing with color image processing is new. Interest in this area ha increased significantly in the past few years as a result of growth in the use a digital images for Internet applications. Our treatment of this topic represent) a significant expansion of the material from previous editions. Similarly Chapter 7, dealing with wavelets, is new. In addition to a number of signal processing applications, interest in this area is motivated by the need for mop sophisticated methods for image compression, a topic that in turn is motivate; by a increase in the number of images transmitted over the Internet or store; in web servers. Chapter 8 dealing with image compression was updated to in dude new compression methods and standards, but its fundamental structure remains the same as in the previous edition. Several image transforms, previous)) covered in Chapter 3 and whose principal use is compression, were moved to this chapter.

Chapter 9, dealing with image morphology, is new. It is based on a significant expansion of the material previously included as a section in the chapter on image representation and description. Chapter 10, dealing with image segmentation, has the same basic structure as before, but numerous new examples were included and a new section on segmentation by morphological watersheds was added. Chapter 11, dealing with image representation and description, was shortened slightly by the removal of the material now included in Chapter 9. New examples were added and the Hotelling transform (description by principal components), previously included in Chapter 3, was moved to this chapter. Chapter 12 dealing with object recognition was shortened by the removal of topics dealing with knowledge-based image analysis, a topic now covered in considerable detail in a number of books which we reference in Chapters 1 and 12. Experience since the last edition of Digital Image Processing indicates that the new, shortened coverage of object recognition is a logical place at which to conclude the book.

Although the book is totally self-contained, we have established a companion web site (see inside front cover) designed to provide support to users of the book. For students following a formal course of study or individuals embarked on a program of self study, the site contains a number of tutorial reviews on background material such as probability, statistics, vectors, and matrices, prepared at a basic level and written using the same notation as in the book. Detailed solutions to many of the exercises in the book also are provided. For instruction, the site contains suggested teaching outlines, classroom presentation materials, laboratory experiments, and various image databases (including most images from the book). In addition, part of the material removed from the previous edition is stored in the web site for easy download and classroom use, at the discretion of the instructor. A downloadable instructor's manual containing sample curricula, solutions to sample laboratory experiments, and solutions to all problems in the book is available to instructors who have adopted the book for classroom use.

This edition of Digital Image Processing is a reflection of the significant progress that has been made in this field in just the past decade. As is usual in a project such as this, progress continues after work on the manuscript stops. One of the reasons earlier versions of this book have been so well accepted throughout the world is their emphasis on fundamental concepts, an approach that, among other things, attempts to provide a measure of constancy in a rapidly-evolving body of knowledge. We have tried to observe that same principle in preparing this edition of the book.

The best comprehensive image processing textbook

This book is the best textbook on image processing for senior/graduate students majoring in engineering or computer science. Although a knowledge of calculus and linear algebra is presumed, it is a very accessible textbook. Chapters one and two consist of very basic background information. The concepts of linearity, pixel distance measures, spatial versus gray scale resolution, and zooming and shrinking are explained. Chapter 3 is about image inhancement in the spatial domain, and includes discussions on contrast enhancement, histogram processing and equalization, and histogram matching. The idea of filtering images via an NxN kernel mask is also introduced. Chapter 4 is about filtering in the frequency domain. The 2D Fourier transform is introduced and it is explained how filtering can take place using this transform. Chapter five discusses image restoration. This includes Weiner filtering and minimum mean square error filtering. Chapter six discusses color image processing. This chapter discusses the various color spaces - RGB, CMYK, HSI, and how the transforms mentioned up to this point in the book can be performed in color. Chapter 7 is about wavelets and multiresolution processing. This chapter is a good solid presentation of wavelets and their usage in image processing. I would suggest that anyone interested in this subject start here before they read another book, since the presentation is clearer here than in books dedicated to the subject. Chapter 8 is about image compression. Basics of information theory are discussed, and lossy as well as lossless methods of compression are discussed. As a good follow-on to the previous chapter, the role of wavelets in compression is discussed. Chapter 9 discusses morphological image processing, which is that field of image processing that relies on the systematic "fattening" and "thinning" of edges to enhance images. Chapters 10,11, and 12 are a sort of introduction to computer vision topics. Chapter 10 discusses how to segment an image. Chapter 11 is about image descriptors that quantify segmented portions of an image. Chapter 12 is about object recognition and even has a short section on statistical classifiers. This book is a joy to read, and will make the topic of image processing very clear. There are plenty of diagrams, formulas, and equations listed. There are no examples to speak of, but algorithms are clearly specified so that I don't think that the book suffers because of the lack of examples. All engineering textbooks should be this well written. I particularly recommend this book as a reference for students and practitioners of robotics, video processing, and computer vision, since there are image processing considerations in all of these fields that this book will clarify.

Simply Excellent! Fully Justifies Its Price!

The preface of this book starts with a quote:

"When something can be read without effort, great effort has gone into its writing".

And once you start reading the book, you realize how much the book lives upto this. Everything is written clearly and importany points are stressed again and again in each topic until you become fully familiar with them. Topics are written with implementation in mind, as you can get started with writing your own code instantly.

The book makes the subject as interseting as it gets, and although some existing basic concepts of mathematics and statistics are quite helpful while reading, but you dont even have to be familiar with Digital Signal Processing to fully understand the contents.

Finally, I'd like to say that out of the few poeple that fully understand a concept, fewer have the gift to deliver their knowledge to others, and the authors of this book have that gift.

It helped me with IB math!

Prior to purchasing this book I doubted whether or not that this would help me with IB math. But after I received it, I found out the problems in the book are just as do-able and helpful as any other new editions'. I received a score of 6 out of 7 for IB math. I recommend this book to those who are struggling with IB math and to those who are willing to score high on IB math as well.

Math for the International Baccalaureate Diploma

Math books usually don't change much. This edition is from 2004 but still used in various schools. It is supposed to support teachers and students because it is meant to be "suitable for self-study". It starts with a well explained repetition of the main subjects of algebra, circular functions, and trigonometry, including exercises. Then the authors jump right into calculus. About the Author
J. Scott Duvall (PhD. Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary) is professor of New Testament at Ouachita Baptist University. He is the coauthor with George H. Guthrie of Biblical Greek Exegesis: A Graded Approach to Learning Intermediate and Advanced Greek and with Terry G. Carter and J. Daniel Hays of the textbook Preaching God's Word: A Hands on Approach to Preparing, Developing and Delivering the Sermon.

J. Daniel Hays (ThM, Dallas Theological Seminary; PhD, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary) is dean of the Pruet School of Christian Studies and professor of Old Testament at Ouachita Baptist University. He is the author of From Every People and Nation, and he has coauthored Grasping God's Word; Preaching God's Word; Journey into God’s Word; The Story of Israel: A Biblical Theology; Iraq: Babylon of the End Times?; Apocalypse; and The Dictionary of Biblical Prophecy. As the story takes one creepy, bizarre turn after another, Marshall's convincing characters act consistently and believably in a progressively implausible situation. A few complaints included the intricate plotting and the book's length, but most of the critics' objections resulted from the novel's abrupt transformation from a run-of-the-mill murder mystery into a supernatural thriller. While The Intruders may appeal most to fans of The X-Files, readers who can suspend their disbelief will be rewarded by the originality, suspense and "unwavering storytelling" (South Florida Sun-Sentinel) of this genre-defying novel.

Creepy, chillng... thought-provoking for geeks like me

The wife and teenage son of a Seattle-area scientist are brutally murdered by a stranger claiming to be an FBI agent, and the scientist himself is nowhere to be found. A short time later, a nine-year-old girl named Madison disappears from Oregon's ethereal Cannon Beach while her inattentive mother, despondent over the deteriorating state of her marriage, dozes inside their beach cottage.

But the tale of The Intruders truly begins when Jack Whalen, a former cop with a troubled past who has of late become an accidental author of sorts, gets an out-of-the-blue visit from Gary Fisher, a high school classmate he hasn't seen in two decades, and one to whom he was only mildly acquainted -- making the seemingly impromptu reunion even more suspicious to a been-there-done-that kind of guy like Jack. Fisher, now a lawyer teetering precariously on the brink of something he himself is struggling to understand, has ostensibly come to ask for Jack's opinion on an estate case he's handling, owing to Jack's past in law enforcement and their connection as former classmates. But, as always, there's much more to the story.

Fisher's re-entrance into Jack's life is the catalyst for massive change, and the chaos that has been loitering outside the Whalen home for the last few years has finally found its way inside. Suddenly, everything Jack thinks he knows about his life is being challenged, especially in regard to his ad-executive wife, Amy, whose recent behavior has become increasingly peculiar.

Except for overuse of the words "diffident" and "irresolute" (a nitpick, to be sure), The Intruders succeeds as a thoroughly gripping and surprising creepy tale -- although, in the end, it left me with more questions than answers. I wanted to learn more about the Nine, a secret organization central to the tale's mystery, and was left feeling a bit confused about certain key points to the story (namely a character who goes unidentified until the end). Plus, I wasn't satisfied with the resolution between Jack and Amy, and thought it was a bit anticlimactic. And yet, that aside, The Intruders captivated me from the first horrifying chapter -- so much so, that I read it all in one night.

The Intruders is a tale that will appeal to readers who want an engrossing thriller with other-worldly tones. If you're geeky, as I am, then many of the ideas in the book will resonate with that part of you that believes -- or wants to -- in the things that go bump in the night. Just know that, whereas some books are a veritable feast for the mind that leave you filled to capacity for days, The Intruders is more like a frozen dinner: tasty, but not that satisfying.

Worth the wait

I first stumbled across Michael Marshall in one of those gift shops you find in bigger hotels. I wandered over to the paperback "section" --- it was a wall mounting, containing slots for nine titles --- and I noticed the name "Michael Marshall" on a copy of THE STRAW MEN. I went to grade school with a Michael Marshall, so I picked up the book to see if perhaps it was the same gentleman. They turned out to be different people altogether. But I was so intrigued by the premise of the novel that I bought it, read it and quickly sought out the remainder of the author's bibliography.

THE INTRUDERS is Marshall's latest work, combining his trademark elements of unpredictability, craftsmanship and sterling characterization to provide an addicting, thrilling read that never disappoints.

If you're paranoid at all, you're going to get your instincts jumpstarted within a few pages of reading THE INTRUDERS. The story deals primarily with Jack Whalen, a man who is unsettled by the feeling that his world is slowly, almost imperceptibly, changing. Whalen is an ex-LAPD patrolman who retired from the force, wrote a book of some nominal success and now lives with his wife Amy --- a successful marketing executive --- in a small rural community a few hours removed from Seattle. Their world seems to be financially and emotionally secure. But, as Marshall slowly reveals, there are tiny cracks around the foundation of the Whalen family --- not necessarily fissures or yawning chasms, but cracks nonetheless.

When Amy turns up missing during what would otherwise be a routine business trip to Seattle, Jack immediately begins to investigate, only to discover that her disappearance is more a misunderstanding than anything else. That's not the end of it, however. Jack notices that his wife is doing little things --- acquiring new habits, listening to different music --- that she has never done before. Taken together, they portend the arrival of something far beyond anything that Jack can imagine.

In the meantime, events occurring that appear far removed from Jack's world will jeopardize his very existence. A mysterious stranger breaks into a house, brutally murders a woman and her son, and sets the house on fire. A young girl, walking alone on a beach, is approached by a polite man and shortly thereafter leaves without explanation, even as her demeanor begins to change. And Amy? She just gets more and more bizarre.

As you're reading, you will probably find yourself wondering just how Marshall is going to tie up such apparently disparate elements into a cohesive story, and to what ultimate end. What Marshall does, however, is not only create a chilling tale that will keep you awake at night, but he also provides a possible answer to a question that has puzzled individuals for hundreds of years: What, precisely, makes us what, and who, we are?

Those familiar with Marshall's body of work wish that he would write more frequently. But when he publishes a novel of such quality as THE INTRUDERS, one remembers that any book of his is worth the wait, no matter how long it may be.

Here's a thriller that really thrills. What begins as a reasonably straightforward mystery involving a couple of murders and several missing people in the Pacific Northwest soon escalates into something dark and different and profoundly frightening. If you like your suspense novels to be offbeat and edgy, and you don't mind a few genuine shocks, THE INTRUDERS is the book for you. Highly recommended.

Excellent book!

Great book, very useful. It's amazing how the author is able to portrait the whole world of orthodontics in this book. He explains in an excellent way all the very important cases that orthodontists might encounter on a daily basis. I strongly recommend it to anybody else in the field.

About the Author
Samir Elias has a Doctorate in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters in economics from the University of Technology in the UK. He worked as a research engineer developing new products at two different private companies in the US. In 1994 he raised venture capital to start his own engineering company which was sold to an international company in 1999. Between 1994 and 1997 he was involved in a real estate investment partnership in Ohio and Massachusetts. During that period he was intrigued by stock and option trading and how mathematical principles can be aplied to enhancing trading and investment profits. In 1997 , using his experience in computer modeling of multiphase dynamic systems which was the focus of his doctorate dissertation, he developed a mathematical approach using convergence divergence charts to model long term stock movements .This model was simplified enought to obtain effective results using hand drawn charts once a week. With the proliferation of the internet and increased interest and accessibilty of short term trading he developed unique combinations of technical indicators to predict short term stock movements with over 75% accuracy. In 1997 , he sold his real estate partnership and started trading part time at Insight Securities in Wichita KS until they closed in late 1998. Presntly , he is a full time option and stock trader and investor.

It's working for me

I traded stocks and futures for the past 13 yrs using various platforms, including Tradestation, Streetsmart Pro, E-Trade and others. I hired mentors & tutors, took classes, seminars, hands-on schools, read books [you should see my stack],a nd worked with other traders who had sophisticated trading programs.

I stayed away from options, since in my personal research I concluded that due to the time deterioration nature of options and their complexities, I saw no way of trading options and winning-- ever.

While I kept losing money, I heard that my uncle was doing well in options. I couldn't believe it. I didn't believe it-- since I also heard that he didn't have a computer and lived in rural Georgia, talking only to his broker by phone and working with paper statements. I made it a point to interview my uncle, only to discover I indeed had a "rich" uncle with a "system" that worked. This "system" he merely said was "common sense"-- but after he explained it to me, the lights came on.

I then searched Amazon for books that specifically talked about the ONLY TWO options transactions my uncle traded with: money-secured puts and covered calls. I was led to this book by Dr Elias.

The first 11 Chapters are the most important-- and it is important to note that when Dr Elias is talking about calls or put transactions in these chapters, he is almost exclusively talking about money-secured puts and covered calls. There is only one place in the book where he warns you that to BUY a call or BUY a put places you in a position where you are working against the clock and that every minute, your investment is losing value. Take that warning to heart!

I also need to correct page 33, where the text should read [correction is in caps:]:
"Selling one CALL option implies that you are selling CALL options on the amount of shares of stock you are holding. Selling two CALL options implies that you are doing that on twice the shares you hold." The editor mistakenly used the word 'put' where CALL should be, in explaining a covered call.

Indeed, this book covers in detail, and with profitable variations, my uncle's strategy. The last two chapters on Thinking outside the Box and the Epilogue are valuable. The other chapters were of little value to me since I already know a great deal about chart patterns, reversals, candle sticks, doji's and the like. All this is good information, but -- in my view-- "filler" to the 'real meat' of the winning strategy of obtaining recurring option premiums, over and over and over again.

I have been trading this strategy for 3 months and I am up 15% with no losses.
Try getting that from a CD or Money Market Fund.

A Profitable book written by a successful trader

I do not have to tell anyone that most trading book writers derive the majority of their income from seminars , trading camps and books rather than from actual trading. Only a handful of trading book authors are successfull traders, and It was a pleasure to read a book written by someone who trades for a living.
Before moving to my current location, I belonged to a local trade group run by the author with a maximum allowable membership of fifty. In the eight months I belonged to the group, I saw traders including myself make profits above $3000 per week using methods most of which are detailed in this book, as well as the other trading book written by the same author.

After moving to my current location , I continued implementing the strategies I learned from the trade group as well as others from the book. Although my results do not match those obtained when I was an active member of the group, I am able to cash in between $30,000 to $50,000 per year on a 150,000 trading account.
I obtained these results by selling options on three to five stocks each month and collecting a net premium of near $1000 per stock. This is easily achievable if you pick the right stocks using ideas from author's other book "Explosive Stock Trading Strategies" and then combine them with concepts from this book to determine the right option parameters such as implied volatility , premium and expiration date.
For those who are interested in specifics, I start by scanning for stocks that meet the " Falling Knife" and "Momentum Shift" setups in the book "Explosive stock trading strategies". These setups offer, in addition to a high probability of upward reversal , unique option properties. These are :high option implied volatility and high vega, implying that the premium moves significantly with moderate moves in volatility. These properties allow selling low risk out of the money puts at strikes below market price for hefty premiums. Once the stock moves up the high vega results in a significant drop in the premium allowing me to buy back the option often for less than one quarter of the premium I obtained. Try this strategy and you will see that you do not need more than a handful of such stocks to create a respectable monthly income on your account.

Many creative ideas that will make your profits soar

This book contains a large number of ideas that can deliver big profits while at the same time being different from run of the mill option books. I used several concepts in the book to trade options successfully with impressive profits. One highly effective strategy I used recently is the VPV up reversal where the author mentions on page 240 that such setups result in a quick move to the next resistance. SCTY gave a VPV reversal signal on 6/11/2014 son I sold puts on the stock on June 12 at a $55 strike and expiring June 21. I chose the $55 strike since it is the next resistance. I obtained a premium of $4.90 per share for 20 contracts or a total of $9800 in premiums. The stock moved to above $64 on June 17 and the option premium was down to $0.05 resulting in a net profit of $9700 in 5 days. These are the kinds of profits this book is capable of delivering if you take the time to implement the creative concepts presented. I strongly encourage readers to apply the falling rectangle and VPV reversal which has proven at least in my case to deliver monster profits. Check the examples in the book on VPV reversals and you will see that spotting the move in SCTY was quite straightforward.
