About the Author

In 1980 Charmian Amearea Kumara Redwood had a Near Death Experience in which she returned to Oneness and remembered Who She Is. Since that time she has been assisting others through her workshops and personal sessions to reconnect with and their own Divine Self and to activate the DNA codes for ascension. She has remembered her many lives as a teacher and healer in the mystery schools always guiding her students to find the God Within and to empower themselves.

Since moving to Hawaii in 2006 Charmian has brought forward many memories of Ancient Lemuria where we lived in Oneness and used our intention and connection to the Source to create everything we needed in our lives. A fine novel

Offering a rare glimpse of Pakistan not long after partition, this tightly plotted work remains one of Zulfikar Ghose's most well known novels.
The story involves the wealthy and powerful Shah brothers who conspire to destroy a land holder named Aziz Khan who has refused to sell his property to them. The novel works on many levels, but certainly it is the story of a culture in transition, a new way eclipsing an old way. Resplendent with striking images of Pakistan, the sociological matter is rich: modernization clashes with tradition, economic progress and industrialism obliterate time-honored values. The Shah brothers represent the new order, avaricious, devoid of scruples, shrewd manipulators of the economic process. On the other hand, Aziz Khan symbolizes the tradition, the land, and the stolid character at the heart of the old culture. Ghose writes: "And these seventy acres, this piece of earth, this world of Aziz Khan, did not appear to him as land, as a property with a market value. It was a sufficiency of existence. So that nobody could take the land away from him without first taking away his existence."
Interestingly, it is the youngest Shah brother, Afaq, whose seemingly random act of violence against a teenage peasant girl sets the story into motion. Afaq remains one of the most interesting figures in the novel. Like the bedtime story he tells in the opening chapters, he is the monkey who is always running away from disaster. Indeed, this image foreshadows Afaq's actions for the rest of the novel.
One of the truly exceptional qualities of this book is the author's style. Ghose maintains a straightforward narrative in this novel, but in some passages, the philosophical questions seem beyond the intellectual range of the characters and this situation gives the author's style some of its unique qualities. Aziz Khan's story is tragic because though he is a master of his land, he is not a master of language. Ghose writes the following:
Now a monument himself though no one had come to look; an inscription in a dead language; a hieroglyph the new literacy did not care to interpret. . . . Had his tongue been as competent as his hands. . . .
Yet beyond the specific circumstances of a land holder in the Punjab, Ghose grapples with larger issues of language and meaning. Often interweaving subtle and complex insights about the philosophical problems of language into his storytelling, Ghose frequently makes the novel's conventions, that is to say, its form, serve the needs of his style.
In The Murder of Aziz Khan one of the key themes has to do with the human consciousness and its relationship to the past, the present, and the future. Memory serves to order experience and this order is what we call Time. Yet objects have a way of defying human ordering. In this novel, objects take on a kind of menace. Like massive boulders creating rapids and whirlpools in the river of Time, places and landscapes refuse to be ordered and in fact, distort, divide, and disrupt our perception of the flow of things giving the novel a resonance and depth that is not often found in Fiction.

good story but very depressing, for a book about life in Pakistan shortly after it was founded the book is great, but the story is so depressing, O.K. to read but recommend have a happier story to read afterwards or you will feel down for days.

Full of code examples but missing case studies

Do you know HTML, the common standard for web pages? PMML is the same idea applied to data mining. PMML stands for Predictive Model Markup Language. It is a standard using XML notation to deploy data mining model in the industry. PMML standard comprises data pre-processing and modelling.

The book contains a good (but short) introduction to the standard. Only a few schemas about the various steps of the process are given. Most of the book focuses on the different parts of the standard, illustrated with code snippets. The main objective of this standard is to reduce time to market when deploying data mining solutions.

The book is really useful if you want to deploy your solution using PMML. If you are interested to know more about this standard, this is not the right book (but maybe the only one?). It contains a lot of code, but no case study. This would have been a plus, since most of the material can certainly be found on the web.

I've read some books, I've written several BUT this book "Israelis' Five Trillion Dollar Secret"...IS PHENOMENAL! I LOVE IT! I learned SO MUCH from this small 80 page book! My eyes are open wider...my mind is all the more empowered! A must read for religious and non-religious!

Breathtaking

I don't even know where to start, but I'll start by cheering on Mrs Joyce for the marvelous job she has done for writing this book.. During the time I was reading my heart race to keep on reading to the end. This made me realize that I can wait on whatever God has plan for me in life, and the man I shall walk down the aisle to should be in his will. I enjoyed every minute and every second I got the chance to open the book. I can't wait to read Vol 2. I encourage every woman and man should read this because each and every one of us plays a character role in reality & how I sees it everyone that was listed in that book plays a role in my life right now.

I loved it!

This novel is more than just another romance/christian book. It is a great depiction of relationships good, bad or indifferent. At times, I forgot that these were just characters because their story was real life to me. I love how things weren't pretentious and overly-laden with religion. I truly feel that men and womenalike, especially couples could enjoy reading this book together as a benefit to strengthen their marriage and too communicate more effectively. I recommend this writing to singles looking to date and married couples to rekindle that fire. This is a spicy, on the edge drama-packed story, laced with controversy and surprises.

Ms. Stewart’s novel was an excellent read. As I drew closer to its end, I felt an overwhelming sadness: I did not want the novel to end. I wanted to read more about the relationships between the real-to-life characters. Stewart’s novel is more than a romance—it is a lesson for those who believe in spirituality, reminding them to wait on Spiritual guidance and promises. The novel is also a lesson for everyman and everywoman seeking a “happily ever after” relationship. I applaud this first novel by Ms. Stewart and cannot wait to read more from her.

You'll never look at a sampler the same way again

If you've ever looked at samplers or thought of the ways in which needlework shaped the lives of women for centuries (mostly in the negative sense), you will enjoy this book immensely. Parker takes one of the central tasks expected of women in the 18th and 19th centuries and shows how women used needlework as an outlet to express feelings of dismay and dislike. It just goes to show you: where there's a will, there's a way.
If you enjoy learning about women's lives in the past, and have either an interest or an aversion to needlework yourself, I think you will enjoy this most unusual history.

For those interested in the history of women and needlework, a must read

Wow, I'm impressed with this book. Fascinating, well researched and detailed history of women and embroidery. This is a must read for anyone, especially women, who embroider as their primary artistic expression. As an artist who is working within this medium to excavate and reveal the living present of misogyny, this book has enriched my understanding of the work I do. Highly highly recommended.

This book is important and fascinating. It is an important piece of art history, as well as the history of embroidery. It never seemed to me to be dismissive of the medium and said instead that what women did in the past was eventually denigrated by others, e.g., the guilds, church officials (not the author). This book is a part of the reinstatement of women's place in art history, as well as fiber/needle arts.

I say it is fascinating because I am very interested in how people lived and created art, throughout time. And it is of interest because it tells what happened to a beautiful art form and how it became devalued by a mostly male-controlled art world, except in certain settings.

There are other books to read about the subject, that will round out the appreciation of needle arts, including "Embroidered Textiles" by Sheila Paine. I have read dozens of books on this subject, including books on the tools of the trade, ancient and new.

I embroider and I vote, so I vote this book "excellent".
